I’ve been here before.
In fact, I’ve been here a few times… On a weight loss journey that is. At 18 years old I became a pregnant teen going from 150lbs at a size 4-6 top and an 8 bottom to 250lbs to a size 20.
Then I lost it and gained it back in 2009-10 going from 169lbs to fluctuating between 272-276lbs when I had a major financial setback. Yep, I lost it again in 2011 going from a size 20-22 to a size 12 shown in the picture below. Well, I gained it all back AGAIN. I took off work for almost 2 years and did nothing but eat bad, sleep and chilled… sigh!

This is it, no more weight loss struggling for and going up and down for me. I’ve been releasing an average of 2.5lbs a week and I am determined to get the rest off and live healthier!
Here’s what I know from experience:
#1 – You have to make a decision to change. At your core, you really have to decide. I’m there now.
#2 – Your environment makes a BIG difference in getting the results you’re looking for. If you have a family and you’re buying junk for your kids, and trying to get healthy at the same time it’s going to be hard. Remember, YOU ARE the parent. If you’re trying to get healthy it’s only right that you help your kids get healthy with you. My son ate what I ate or guess what, he didn’t eat. So he gave in and participated in his own rescue after a good ole heart to heart chat, and unlike me, he’s still in great shape till this day. As for your significant other if you have one. Ask them to shower you with support because you want to live and not die of any type of diseases, you want to be here for them, tell them how much you love them and WHY you’re doing this. When you know why – the how will show up.

#3 – When you have at least 5 committed accountability partners, everything is easer. That’s why I love the program that I’m doing.
#4 – Water water water… As much as I dislike it, it helps because of the benefits it provides our bodies. I keep a glass or bottle in reach at all times.
#5 – Weight loss is 80% nutrition and 20% exercise. You can’t out-exercise a bad diet.
#6 – Never give up, as you see, I’ve given up a few times. I’d slip up and instead of getting back on the wagon with the next meal I’d say I’ll start over tomorrow. Tomorrow turns into months and then I end up 20lbs heavier. This is a lifestyle that we have to create or else it’s going to be a life long struggle. Who has time for that? I don’t.
I hope this helps you on your health journey. As many of you know, I love hearing from our community. What kind of tips can you provide? We’d love to hear them. Let us know how it turned out in the comment section below.
